The last Commercial Clipper Ship sailed the high seas till 1949

The Pamir clipper (or windjammer) was the last of its kind and worked the oceans as a forerunner of todays bulk carriers till 1949. Then it became a training ship for sailors. It sunk in mid-atlantic west of the azores in 1957. With a crew complement of 86 only 6 sailors survived. Wiki
